About Elizabeth

I am a passionate, strategic, and collaborative developmental editor with 30+ years of experience in nonfiction trade books. From idea to final proofs, I’ve produced 100+ lifestyle, business, and children’s books. My super-specialties are leadership, health, and all things parenting.

I coach book authors through the publishing process, from idea to book proposal to publication. Clients, like Jo Miller who wrote the bestseller Woman of Influence, credit me with saving them time and money by helping them analyze, define, and achieve their content goals. One of my most popular services is helping thought leaders complete their book proposals, with laser focus on a rock-solid table of contents and a sample chapter that sings.

A longtime resident of Silicon Valley, I work one-on-one with women executives to create content, ranging from books to blog, presentations to resumes, that supports their careers and establishes them as thought leaders.

As the executive editor of the lifestyle and children’s division at book publisher Weldon Owen, I developed clients’ content strategies and managed their books from idea to publication in-house for nearly 10 years. I launched book publishing programs for Parenting and Working Mother magazines, and ran book programs for big-name brands such as Gymboree, Pottery Barn Kids, and Hallmark. I produced several lines of children’s reference books, as well as Gymboree’s first app. Publishing partnerships included Chronicle Books and Scholastic.

As a seasoned parenting and health writer myself, I regularly contribute to BabyCenter, the world’s largest parenting website, reaching 50 million parents. My coverage of maternal depression won two Digital Health Awards. I also write for Health Central.

I hold a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
